Apparently, high school kids in Ohio (and elsewhere, Im sure) are getting in (big) trouble for "sext messaging" one another. That is to say, they're facing jail-time and and the label of sexual offender by sending racy photos of themselves via their phones.
And I, of course, find it fucking ridiculous.
It's perfectly clear and legal for two 15 year olds to have as much sex as they want. But a 15 year old can't look at another 15 year old's junk on their phone? They go to jail for this?
Luckily, you probably have to be pretty god damn dumb to get caught doing this. It's not like cops are girlfriends who go through all your text messages regularly. Though, it's probably better to get caught by the police than by your girlfriend with old photos in your phone. Girlfriends hate that. You would prefer jail time, Im sure.
